Whether it’s your first time playing Mississippi Pick 4 or you just need a refresher on how the game works, we have the steps to playing the game below. The Pick 4 game varies from state to state so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the rules first!
Simply select four numbers and enter them on an official Cash 4 Playslip. If you can’t think of which to use, you can mark the Quick Pick box on your Playslip and the lottery terminal will choose a set of numbers to use. Whichever you decide on, as long as the numbers range from 0000 to 9999 you can move to the next step!
Now it’s time to select your play type. This will affect your chances of winning plus how much you can win, which you can read more about on our Ways to Play Ways to Play and Odds and Prizes pages. The options you have to play are Exact Order Play, 50/50 Play, Any Order Play, and Combo Play.
Bet $0.50 on a play or $1 for double the prizes if you win! The odds of winning and the rules of the game stay the same with either wager.
Mississippi has the additional feature of a Fireball. This is an optional fifth ball, drawn after the main four are chosen. If you decide to pay for this add-on then you can replace any main ball number to boost your chances of winning a prize. Any prize won with a Fireball will be a little lower than without in exchange for having better odds of winning!
With the Multi Draw option, you can play your numbers again in future draws. Mark your Playslip with if you want to play in the Day draws, Night draws, or both of them. Remember to put how many consecutive draws you want to be in, as you can be in up to 91 drawings at once!
If you want to be involved in a future draw then mark the ‘Optional Plays’ box on your playslip. Let the clerk know which date you would like to play in and you’re all set.
If you're confident in your numbers, you can purchase up to 20 identical tickets without the need for a new playslip.
The Mississippi Pick 4 takes place twice a day, the Midday Draw and the Evening Draw. The Midday Draw takes place at 2:30pm CT and the Evening Draw takes place at 9.30pm, the results are available soon after.
You’ll always know the amount you can win by playing Mississippi Cash 4 prizes, as they are always are fixed. The biggest jackpot available is $5,000 and you can win with a $1 wager and Exact Order play or Combo play.
